Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great.

Mark Twain

A designer's eye is always useful behind the camera.

HELLO THERE

I’m Michelle. With the ever changing Graphic Arts industry, I feel I have touched on almost everything as a Designer.  Although it is true I started on paper, I have been working on and with all forms of creative content for over 23 years. Here is a little more about me, so you can understand who I am.

In 2011, I moved to the area after many years in Maine. I loved it up north, but my heart was calling me to move back closer to my family. I was lucky enough to get a job as an Art Director at a shopper marketing agency, Catapult for 5 years. During that time, my husband and I created Bod High Productions after our son, 'Bodhi'. In 2016, I took the plunge to do it full-time as Creative Director and leave the safety of a salary.  I brought my marketing, design and editing background to the table to merge with his years of acting and video experience. We jumped right in creating a statewide TV show from scratch with AETN called ‘Cook with Brooks’. It was a farm-to-table cooking show that highlighted farms and business in NWA. We were lucky enough to tell the stories of Northwest Arkansas food to the rest of the state.

After that, we created numerous award winning TV shows, a documentary and more digital content than I can summarize here. But this last couple years of instability of Covid canceling one job after another, I began working as a Producer at the Walmart Photo Studio for Quad. That time helped me to really understand e-commerce content and how it all happens for the largest retailer out there.

Although I was hired at Quad as a Producer, it really turned into a Project Management role. I started out creating shot lists, acquiring props and hiring all freelance based on budget and needs for the studio. But my job ended up focusing more on coordinating with suppliers to get all Private Brands products to us to shoot for a ‘Walmart.com REFRESH Project’. With new style-guides, we had to ensure each category was brand compliant with this new direction. So on top of coordinating with hundreds of suppliers to get product, I was checking all assets to ensure they were uploaded correctly and aligned to the style-guides. If they were not correct, I would correct them with their Digital Asset Management system. With each step, I was tracking the project life-cycle and reporting to senior leadership on meeting deadlines.

But now, I’m working full-time for BHP again. I have worked on the Creative side for over 23 years and now on the Producer side for 6 years. Whether I was producing a TV show, creating on-line content or coordinating Social Media campaigns, I’m organized and have a great eye for detail. With my creative background, I understand how to work with creative teams.  But with running my own business, I am used to and am not afraid of taking ownership of projects and presenting to clients myself.  My ego is small and I’m not afraid to ask questions. Please take a look at my portfolio on the following page. I'm always open to new opportunities, so see what you think.
